Fred G. Peña, 73, formerly of Hampton, passed away on June 13, 2016 surrounded by his family. A memorial visitation will be from 1-4 PM Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Van Hoe Funeral Home and Crematory. He was born on March 22, 1943 in Crystal City, TX, to Morgan and Concepcion (Garza) Peña . He married Maria Noelia Montemayor on August 1, 1962 in Crystal City. The couple moved to Hampton IL, and he worked as a moulder for John Deere Foundry. He retired after 31 years and the couple moved to Uvalde in 1990. Fred spent his retirement years at Uvalde Memorial Golf Course. When he wasn't golfing, he was either out dancing, sitting on his porch, listening to music or talking to and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, children; Nora (Ismael) Martinez, Austin, TX, Israel M. Peña, San Antonio, TX, Sandra (Steven) Savala, Silvis, Edna (Ruben) Valenzuela, Muscatine and Diana Peña, Bettendorf, sixteen grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers, Adrian Peña, Pedro Peña and Ruben Peña and sisters, Gloria Medina, Francisca Ochoa and Herminia Montez. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, son Frederico Peña Jr., and a sister, Bertha Gonzalez.
