Funeral services for Fred L. "Scotty" Scott, 87, of Moline, IL, will be noon Friday, at The Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 10:00 am until noon Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Scott died Tuesday, April 4, 2016, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Scotty was born August 11, 1929, in Moline, the son of Fred ad Eva Hoover Scott. He served in the US Army Air Corp during later part of WWII. He was a fireman in Monmouth when he returned from the service. Scotty drove trucks across the U.S. And Canada for many years retiring from Eagle Food in 1991. He received many citations while helping others on the road. He owned his own construction business until retirement. He enjoyed working and traveling around the world. He also enjoyed having coffee with his friends at Smokeys, McDonalds, and the Family Restaurant, Milan. He had been a lifelong member of VFW, Monmouth. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church, Colona. Survivors include children, Jim Scott, Davenport, IA, Larry (Jolene) Scott, East Moline; Theresa (Alfie) Bivens, East Moline, Tammy Nees, Moline; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and special friends Bob and Rhonda Nees. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, Clarence Boozier; son, Bobby Scott, grandson, Jason Scott, and 2 brothers. Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
