Gary Mueller, 72, Omaha, NE, passed away on September 29, 2012 at his home after a long illness. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 5-7PM Tuesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation. Garold E. Mueller was born March 10, 1940 in Rock Island, IL, the son of Albert and Vernola (Carlson) Mueller. Growing up he attended Bowlesburg Elementary and graduated in 1958 from United Township High School. While in High School, he participated in wrestling and basketball and won the intramural free throw championship. After high school, Gary spent his entire life with the railroad. He began his career with the Rock Island Lines as a clerk and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as manager of Locomotive Utilization. He married Janet Loding in 1963 and they had one daughter, Jeanine. On April 16, 1977 he married Janette "Pat" Brown. Gary was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and gardening, but especially loved fishing. Those left to honor his memory, are his wife, Pat Mueller, Omaha; his daughter Jeanine Donley, Silvis, grandson, Gregory Donley; stepchildren: Chris, Diane and Greg, additional grandchildren Teresa and Michael and brothers Jim and Ray.
