Gary L. Bergendahl , 78, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Monday December 1, 2025, at Silvis Center, Silvis, IL.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, December 6th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL, where visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Linda Bergendahl.

Gary was born September 6, 1947, in Moline, Illinois, a son of Wallace and Alice (Peterson) Bergendahl. He married Linda Sosbee on April 9, 1994, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was employed at I.H., Farmall Works for many years. Gary, and his wife Linda, remodeled and sold homes, and he was a truck driver before retiring.

Gary enjoyed working on houses, watching westerns, train trips, and in earlier years motorcycles and muscle cars. Some of his favorite times were those spent with family and friends. If you were to ever ask him how he was, his answer was always the same, "Never better!"

Surviving are his wife, Linda Bergendahl, of Rock Island; son, Jeff (Jessica) Bergendahl, Rock Island; stepdaughters, Shelly (Gary Beale) Wilson-Beale, Elizabeth, CO, and Marcy (Brian) Smith, Milan, IL; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two on the way; one great-great-granddaughter; and sister, Linda Joy (Eugene) Pauling, Scottsdale, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Debra Barnes; parents, Wallace and Alice; and nephew, Christopher Greicius.
