Gary L. Bisby, 74, East Moline, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Trinity Rock Island. Funeral services are 10 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where the Moline American Legion will conduct military honors. Visitation is 5-8PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Gary was born on July 13, 1938, in Excelsior Springs, MO, the son of Henry and Deletia (Cazzell) Bisby. He graduated from Rock Island High School, class of 1957 and also graduated from Madison Barber College. He married Dixie Bivens on January 27, 1962 in East Moline. He served in the US Army during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Gary retired in 1992 as an Arc Furnace Operator from John Deere Foundry. Gary loved gardening and was a huge Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Dixie, children, Carrie Bisby, East Moline, David (Julie) Bisby, Moline, Daniel (Samantha) Bisby, Rock Island, and Phillip (Cindy) Bisby, Milan, grandchildren, Jeremy Severs, Brittany Bisby, Bryce Bisby, Brittani Strayer, Ryan Bisby, Zachary Bisby and Kyle Bisby, great-grandchildrenn, Deandrew, Jayden and Nicole, sister, Sharon Hansen, Milan, brother Mike Bisby, Andalusia and sister-in-law, Barbara Bivens, Moline. He was preceded in death by an infant son, William Henry Bisby.
