Gary Langfitt, 81, Eldridge, IA, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Manor Care, Utica Ridge, Davenport. Funeral services are 11 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf, with visitation from 10 AM until service time. Private committal will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Eldridge. Visitation is 4-7 PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Gary was born on November 5, 1935 in Clinton, IA, the son of Arthur and Maxine "Red" (Buckwater) Langfitt. He married Lois Aney on May 19, 1965 in Davenport. Gary retired from Midwest Typewriter Moline as a sale representative. He had been a member of the East End Boulders Club, the Friend Circle Club and the Svithiod Club, all in Moline. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lois, children, Terry (Tammy) Langfitt, Davenport, Keith Langfitt, Muscatine, Denise Edwards, Chillicothe, MO, Rose (Bill) Lerschen, Moline and Gregory Langfitt, Eldridge; step daughter, Jeanne (John) Lerschen, Viola, twenty one grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter and sister, Lalonnie VenHuizen, Clinton. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Anthony Langfitt and Jim Langfitt, stepson, Kenneth Aney, and sisters, Sondra Bailey and Kim Allen.
