Funeral services for Gene Miller, 74, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:30 am Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 pm Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Miller died Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Silverado Naperville Memory Care Community, Naperville, IL. Gene was born November 16, 1942, in East Moline, the son of George and Ann Van Damme Miller. He married Mary Rogers November 17, 1962, at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline. She died January 23, 2015. He retired in 1993, from the International Harvester Plant, East Moline, after 30 years of service. Gene enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to 50's music, country dancing, fishing with his son and watching westerns. Survivors include his children, Bret (Amy) Miller, Minooka, IL, Brenda (Brian) Lenway, Warrenville, IL, and Randi (Derek) Collins, North Liberty, IA, grandchildren; Chelsea, Steven, Jacob, Bret II, Matthew, Destinee and Katlynn; siblings, Denny (Barb) Miller, Linda (George) Leibengood, and Tom (Sharon) Miller, all of East Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
