Funeral services for Geneva M. "Jenny" Nichols-Vogel, 83, of Silvis, IL will be 1:00 pm Monday March 7 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Entombment will be in St Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 pm Sunday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a liturgy service will be held at 5:30pm. Mrs. Nichols-Vogel died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Jenny Heydeman was born August 31, 1932 in Osage, IA, the daughter of Cyril and Madeline "Lena" Arickx Heydeman. She married Harold Nichols February 19, 1952 in Colona, IL . He died December 18, 1989. She later married Raymond Vogel in September of 1990. He died February 9, 2015. Jenny retired from Illini Hospital in 1991 after 20 years of service. Jenny was a Cub Scout Den Mother and also President of St. Mary's East Moline Grade School PTA. She enjoyed many years of camping, square dancing and wintering in Arizona. Jenny was the youngest person in her class to graduate at UTHS. Survivors include her children, David (Sandra) Nichols, Moline, Allan (Nancy) Nichols, Moline and Barbara Nichols, Indian Wells, CA; grandchildren, Katie Nichols (Mike Stroming), Justin and Barbara Nichols; sister, Jean (Robert Longergan), Dexter, MN; brother-in-law, Ken McConoughey, Bradenton, FL. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, and sister, Shirley Ann McConoughey.
