Funeral services for Genevieve Banaszek, 93, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30PM. Mrs. Banaszek died Saturday, November 12, 2005 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, IL. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the Msgr. William J. Cleary Endowment Fund or Special Persons Encounter Christ (SPEC). Genevieve Walkus was born July 4, 1912 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Alexander and Josephine (Macho) Walkus. She married Stanley Banaszek Sr., July 27, 1929, in Chicago, IL. He died February 4, 1994. She was a licensed Massage Therapist for 30 years. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, Catholic Order of Foresters, St. Monica's Group of St. Anne's and the American Massage & Therapy Association. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Frank Dewaele of Rock Island, IL, Corinne and Jim Briggs of East Moline, IL; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Betty Banaszek Jr., of East Moline, IL, Anthony "Tony" and Paula Banaszek of East Moline, IL; grandchildren, Phillip Banaszek, Joseph Banaszek, Lisa Freeman, Thomas Banaszek, Jim Banaszek, Michelle Banaszek, Daniel Banaszek, Christine Banaszek, Tim Dewaele, Kevin Dewaele, Mary Kay Bolger, David Dewaele, Todd Dewaele, Steve Banaszek, Curt Banaszek, Beth Ann Lucas, Jeff Banaszek, Matt Banaszek, Jon Briggs, Jennifer Briggs and Jim Briggs Jr.; 21 great grandchildren.
