Genieve M. Flowers, 86, of East Moline, passed away Friday December 29, 2017 at the home of her daughter, Karen in Davenport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00AM Thursday January 4, 2018 at St. Anne Catholic Church in East Moline. Visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM Wednesday January 3, 2018 at Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., in East Moline where a rosary will be recited at 4:30PM prior to visitation. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Genieve was born January 4, 1931 in Centerville, IA, a daughter of Sam and Mary (Grenko) Thomas. She married Junior L. Flowers, June 10, 1951 in Centerville. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2010. She worked as a bookkeeper for Sears in Moline for 32 years. She enjoyed reading, especially James Patterson novels, crocheting, and bowling. She especially enjoyed playing cards, namely Bridge, and going to breakfast with "the girls." She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in East Moline. Those left to honor her memory, include her children: Steve (Chris) Flowers of Moline, and Karen (Emerson White) Mickeal of Davenport; a grandson: Damon (Elizabeth) Flowers of Bloomington, IL; sister: Beverly (Frank) Rehmeier of Nebraska; two brothers: Gary (Phyllis) Thomas of Centerville, IA and Mike (Cheri) Thomas of Colorado; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother: Charlie Thomas, and a grandson: Justin Flowers.
