George H. Dehon, 82, Moline, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at his home. Funeral services are 10 AM Saturday at Wildwood Baptist Church, East Moline. Burial is in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 229 will conduct military honors. Visitation is 4-7PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to Wildwood Baptist Church, where he was a member. George was born on June 19, 1930 in Moline, the son of George and Alice (Daeselle) Dehon. He married Verle Elizabeth "Liz" Gustafson in 1952. He served on the battleship New Jersey during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1987 as a supervisor from ALCOA. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. George also enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee on Wednesday mornings. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Liz, his son Andrew (Rebecca) Dehon, Grand Rapids, MN, and his grandchildren, Cassandra and Garrett. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Raymond Dehon.
