Funeral services for George J. Kriebs, 86, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Mr. Kriebs passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at his home. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where he had been a member or the American Cancer Society. George was born June 20, 1925 in Elkport, IA, the son of George and Matilda Berns Kriebs. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He married Leda Mae Brown February 14, 1953 in Garnavillo, IA. He retired from Deere & Co. as an Administrative Engineer in 1986 after 30 ½ years of service. He had also worked for Greater Quad City Auto Auction. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Leda Kriebs, East Moline; daughter, Julie (Mark) Curry of Clarence, IL; sons, Jeffrey (Joan) Kriebs, Coleta, IL, Denis Kriebs, Phoenix, AZ, Kevin (Diana) Kriebs, Glendale, AZ; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepsisters, Jeanette Schenke and Loretta Heying, stepbrothers, Marcellus Meyer and Cyril Meyer.
