Funeral services for George W. Odendahl, 81, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 3-7 PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. East Moline, IL, where a Liturgy service will be held at 6:30 PM. Mr. Odendahl died Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Myelodisplastic Syndrome Research. George was born October 14, 1923 in East Moline, IL, the son of Louis and Anna (Weiland) Odendahl. He married Florence Heard January 4, 1947 in St. Anne's Catholic Church, East Moline. She died December 25, 1998. He retired from Johnson Sheet Metal, East Moline, September 19, 1988 after 37 years of service. He was very active with the Sheet Metal Workers Local 91 Retirees. Above all things, family was the most important thing in his life. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Don Zobrist of Port Byron, IL, Lois and Rick Frantz of Dwight, IL, Deb and Dean Mathias of Milan, IL, Cheryl and Gene Anderson of Geneseo, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Sue Odendahl of Moline, IL; grandchildren and spouses, Deana and Chuck Sorensen, Doug and Tracy Zobrist, Daryl and Beckie Zobrist, Jennifer Frantz, Ray Frantz, Andrew and Kate Anderson, Stacey Anderson and Jamie Anderson; great grandchildren, Colby, Shelby, Cameron, Sierra,Gage and one on the way; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Ken Hulsbrink of Moline, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Lourdes Odendahl of Cape Coral, FL; neighbor and good friend, Gary Miller of East Moline, IL.
