Funeral services for Georgia Vozikis, 89, of East Moline, IL, will be 1:30PM Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the VanHoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:30AM-1:30PM Saturday at the funeral home . Georgia passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in Abington, PA. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Open Hearts and Homes for Children Inc., 1001 Lackawanna Trail, Clark City, PA 18411. Georgia was born December 28, 1924 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of John and Eugena Witherspoon Kanellos. She married James Vozikis July 21, 1946, in Chicago. He died April 13, 2005. Survivors include her daughters, Antoinette (Gary) Sluga, Lenexa, KS, and Janice (Jack) Firth, Abington, PA; son, Dino (Marsha) Vozikis, Colona, IL; grandchildren, Jimmy Sluga, Paul (Beth) Sluga, Jared, John Michael, Joanna, and Zina Firth; 5 great grandchildren; sister Jane Mitchell, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Elaine and Nea; brother, Bill.
