Funeral services for Gerald E. "Jerry" Pauwels, 65, of Silvis, IL, will be 10 am Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 3-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Jerry died Sunday November 4, 2018, at UnityPoint Health, Rock Island, IL, with his family by his side.

Jerry was born June 8, 1953, in Moline, IL, the son of Robert and Mary Loussaert Pauwels. He was a graduate of United Township High School Class of 1971. He married Mary Ann Cornmesser June 3, 1972 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. She died October 28, 1997. He later married Chris (Allison) Lindell, September 29, 2007, at the Little Church in the Vale, Nashua, IA. He worked at the former John Deere Foundry and retired in 2008 from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, after 35 years of service. Jerry was a car enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, woodworking and going to drag races.

Survivors include his wife, Chris; children, Brian (Brynn) Pauwels, Moline, Julie (Scott) Jackson, Matherville, IL, Kevin Pauwels (Ann-Marie Mrosko), East Moline; step children, Meghan (Jason) Bristol, East Moline, and Marissa (Jayce) Parrott, Moline; grandchildren, Jordyn, Jacob, Halie, Hunter, Ava-Marie, Amaya, Damon, and Carter; siblings, Tony (Jackie) Pauwels, Colona, James (Kitty) Pauwels, Silvis, Teresa Massa, Milan, IL, and Thomas Pauwels, Moline; and his dogs "his boys", Toby and Mater.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Mary Ann; sister, Jane Pauwels; brother-in-laws, Jerry Massa and Joe Cornmesser,
