Funeral services for Gerald E. "Jerry" Reiley, 89, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30PM. Mr. Reiley died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, where he had been a member. Jerry was born October 12, 1919 in Hume Township, IL, the son of Joseph and Maude (Howlett) Reiley. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Dorothy Pollentier December 17, 1949 in East Moline. She died May 13, 1988. He had owned and operated Jerry Reiley Painting and Decorating. He later sold Real Estate. Jerry had been very active in the community. He had been Past Commander of the East Moline AMVETS Post 145. He had been a member of many organizations including the East Moline American Legion Post 227 and the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include: his son, Joseph Reiley of St. Augustine, IL; granddaughter, Rachel Reily of Abingdon, IL; special friend, Carol Plantz of East Moline. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy and daughter, Susan Reiley. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com.
