Our loving husband and father Gerald was born December 6, 1931 in Fairfield, IA., the son of Edward and Carrieta (Pech) Shelangouski. He married Lois (Tatge) Plank on July 6, 1954 in Unionville, MO. Jerry was a hard working, dedicated, family man that loved spending time with his family, and fishing. He was honest and commonly went out of his way for people whether it was business, community or his family. He was a volunteer fireman in Coyne Center for many years and also was active with the Cropper's Addition Water Association. He retired from Adel Wholesalers, Inc. Plumbing Division, Bettendorf, IA. In retirement he loved working for the Prairie Valley Library System transferring books between the various locations and trout fishing in his "honey holes". He will be greatly missed by his family. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Lois; daughters, Diana Pippert, Carson City, Nev., Lori Gray, Milan and Gay Flanders, Rock Island; sons and daughters-in-law, Don Plank, Yuma, AZ, Doug and Brenda Plank, Rock Island, Greg and Martha Shelangouski, Bettendorf, and Brian Shelangouski and fiancé Julie DeBlaey, Port Byron; twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a sister, Caroline Anderson, East Moline and a brother and sister-in-law Louis and Theresa Shelangouski, Rapids City, IL.
