Funeral services for Gerard "Jerry" Magana, 50 of Rock Island, IL, will be 10:00AM Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30PM. Mr. Magana died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Trinity Rock Island, after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Memorials may be made the family or for masses. Jerry was born October 19, 1959 in Silvis, IL, the son of Robert and Mary Rasso Magana. He had been a self employed painting contractor. He was a talented artist and an avid painter who loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved music and enjoyed going to concerts. Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Magana, parents, Robert and Mary Magana of Silvis, sisters and brother-in-law, Susan Rainey of Dumfries, VA, Monica and Samuel Santiago of Colona, IL, brother, David Magana of Tierra Amarilla, NM; special friend, Wendy Houff of Rock Island.
