Gertrude M. "Trudy" Trunnell, 91, Silvis, passed away on Sunday December 22, 2013 at her home. Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline. Burial in in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Trudy was born October 5, 1922 in New Windsor, IL, the daughter of Walter and Hilda McNeil. Her family moved to Orion, IL when she was in 7th grade and she graduated from Orion High School. Before she married, she worked at a grocery store in Orion for 5 years and then for Dr. Blair DDS in Moline. She married Robert "Bob" Trunnell on November 24, 1943. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2006. Trudy was a full time mother and homemaker. She and her husband loved to travel. They also enjoyed dancing and bowling. She belonged to the same card club for 50 years. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Brian and Shelley Trunnell, Bettendorf, four grandchildren, daughter-in-law Vicki Trunnell and son-in-law Bill Beckman. In addition to losing her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Jana Lee Beckman and son Bruce Trunnell.
