Gladys I. Phillips, 80, East Moline, passes away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association. Gladys was born October 15, 1931 in Camp Point, IL, the daughter of Cluster Admiral and Irma (Bunte) Tournear. She married Robert L. Phillips in 1952 in Oceanside, CA. He died May 13, 2010. Gladys retired as a nurse's aide from the former Moline Public Hospital. She loved quilting and time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her children and spouses; Linda and Stephen Riley, Silvis, Robert and Marlene Phillips, Milan, and Pamela and Donald Elston, Silvis, six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and sisters, Alice Jean, Carolyn, Eddie Mae, Irma Lee, Darlene, Marilyn, Lucille, Sandy and Pauline.
