Funeral services for Glenn A Cass, 90, Silvis, are 10 AM Friday at 1st Baptist Church, Silvis. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Visitation is 4-7PM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to 1st Baptist Church, Silvis. Glenn died Saturday, August 8, 2009 at his home. Glenn was born on September 7, 1918 in Barstow, IL, the son of Fred and Nellie (Ellickson) Cass. He married Marian Clarke on December 20, 1944 in Silvis. She died in 1998. Glenn retired as a pattern maker from Quad City Pattern Co. He served in the Army Air Corp. during WWII. He was a skilled woodworker, clock maker, wrote poetry and was a Die Hard Cubs Fan. Mr. Cass was a devoted member of 1st Baptist Church and was active with the Vacation Bible School. Survivors include his children and spouses: David and Martha Cass of Galesburg, Carol and David Barker, Des Moines, IA, and Laura and Paul Lineberry, Hazard, KY, nine grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, sister Dorothy Guldenpfennig of Geneseo and brother and sister-in-law Don and Wanda Cass, East Moline. He was preceded in death by his wife, and brothers: George, Rex, and Dale.
