Glenn A. Fischlein, 65, East Moline, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Graveside services are 10:30 AM Monday at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Anyone wishing to attend should meet at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline at 10 AM. A memorial fund has been established at the Deere Harvester Credit Union, East Moline. Glenn was born, January 11, 1947 in Davenport, IA. He married LaWanda Lee in May of 1971 and together they had two children. He retired from the Maintenance Department of John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. Glenn served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Survivors include his children, Michael Fischlein, East Moline, and Glenda Lopez, Victoria, MN, four grandchildren, a sister Karen Mecum, Kansas City, MO, and brothers, Tom of Eldridge, IA and Terry, Marietta, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jack, Dennis and David.
