Visitation for Golda May Grimes, 75, Hampton, IL is 4-7PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Funeral services and burial are in Urbana, Missouri. Golda died Monday, January 15, 2007 at Trinity Medical Center-West Campus, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's. Golda was born, February 17, 1931 in Seymore, MO, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Vittetow) Cantrell. She married Carl Grimes, June 4, 1970 in Milan, IL. She had worked at Franks Pizzeria in Silvis for many years and later at the Coffee Cup in Urbana. She enjoyed going out to the Eagles Club and the American Legion. She loved dancing, listening to Country Music, riding on a Harley Davidson, attending Sunday's Stockcar Races and an occasional trip to the Casino River Boats. Survivors include her children and spouses Deborah and Terry Brown, Hampton, Capt. Cora Courage and Nonie Proffitt, Wyoming, and Rick Grimes, Urbana, MO, grandchildren (and spouse) Daniel (Jennifer) Erickson, Shane Erickson, Cody Brown, Bianca Courage, Dylan Grimes and Dalton Grimes, and a great grandson Dakota Johnson. She is preceded in death by her husband Carl, daughter Barbara Jean Box and brothers Claude and Leo Cantrell.
