Goldie M. Demeulemeester, 81, East Moline, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2017, surrounded by her immediate family. Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 pm by the National Catholic Society of Foresters of which she was a member. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Church. Goldie VanOost was born on February 14, 1936 in Ruiselede, Belgium, the daughter of Cyriel and Maria (Taghon) VanOost. She married Andre Demeulemeester on January 21, 1958 in Tielt, Belgium. He died July 6, 2009. She was a loving homemaker who lived for her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, 70 Plus Club and St. Mary's Card Club. Goldie enjoyed family gatherings and traveling with her family. Survivors include her children, Rita (Tony) Helmers, Waynesville, MO, Mark (Ali) DeMeulemeester, Port Byron, Rev. Patrick DeMeulemeester, Granville, IL and John DeMeulemeester, Brownstown Township, MI, grandchildren, Andrew DeMeulemeester, Sarah Santiago and Brandon Helmers, great grandchildren, Dante and Amelia Santiago dear friends, Don Wieland and Liz Desseyn , 2 brothers and 2 sisters in Belgium She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers and a sister.
