Gorman E. Hunt, 93, East Moline, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Private graveside services are at Mount Muncie Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Gorman was born September 9, 1917 in Leavenworth, the son of Gorman H. and Hortense L. (Sexton) Hunt. He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1935 and received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State. He worked as a field engineer at Allis Chalmers in West Allis, WI and later retired from AMC at the Rock Island Arsenal. He married Ilene Mae Harris in 1938. She died in 1986. Gorman had been a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers for 25 years. Survivors include his children (spouse) Tony Hunt, Moline and Marylou Hunt(Jack Brooks), Moline, five grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, a daughter Beverly and a great grandson Koby Powers.
