Funeral services for Gregory L. DePorter, 66, of Colona, IL, will be 10:00AM Wednesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church, Colona, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline is handling arrangements. Mr. DePorter died Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Greg was born April 15, 1944 in Moline, IL, the son of Maurice and Reva Hull DePorter. He married Deanna M. Lewis June 24, 1967 in East Moline. He was a graduate of The University of Notre Dame, Class of 1966 and the University of Illinois Law School Class of 1969. He practiced law as a sole proprietor nearly all his professional career in Colona. He had been an active member of his community, especially the Colona School Board, Colona Fire Department, and the Colona Police Department. His generosity did not go unnoticed. He was an avid Chicago Cubs Fan and Notre Dame Fan. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Deanna DePorter of Colona; daughters, Laura DePorter (Nathan Youngblood) of Colona, Janelle (James) Perrigo, Davenport, IA; sons, Jeff (Wendy) DePorter of Naperville, IL, Eric (Rebecca) DePorter of Lombard, IL; grandchildren, Ethan, Andrew, Abigail, Connor, and Rylee; sister-in-law, Jeannette DePorter of Moline, IL.
