Funeral services for Guadalupe "Lupe" Bautista, 83, of Silvis, IL, will be 9:30AM Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30PM. Mr. Bautista died Sunday, October 19, 2014, at Aspen Rehab and Health Care, Silvis. Lupe was born August 10, 1931, in Cotulla, TX, the son of Victor and Leonarda Bautista. He married Aurora Pompa February 28, 1953, in Rock Island, IL. He retired from Frank Foundry, Moline, after 40 years of service. He loved his garden, and grilling out with friends and family. He enjoyed talking and being with people. Lupe had been a hard working man all his life and took great care of his family. He loved to sing and dance to his favorite Mexican Music. He loved his children and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his daughters, Rose Ann Barajas, East Moline, Marty Bautista, East Moline, and Melissa Jamison, Silvis; sons, Robert Bautista, East Moline, Lawrence (Mary) Bautista, Silvis, and Antonio Bautista West St. Paul, MN; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one on the way; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers; numerous nieces and nephews.
