J. Guadalupe "Lupe" Mendoza, 91, East Moline, Illinois, died Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Riverwood Health Center, East Moline. Funeral services will be 10:00AM Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, Illinois. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be from 1:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 12:30PM. Lupe was born February, 15, 1923, in Mexico, the son of Daniel and Luciana Muniz Mendoza. He married Maria del Carmen Ortiz . She died in 2000. Lupe had worked as a farmer. Survivors include his daughters, Saturina (Fransisco) Aguilera, Moline and Elida (Rogelio Tellez) Mendoza, Florida; sons, Luis (Margarita Melendez) Mendoza, Rock Island, Illinois, Valentin (Margo Garcia) Mendoza, Davenport, Iowa, Daniel (Eva Lopez) Mendoza, Rock Island, Adolfo (Denise Sandoval) Mendoza, Moline, and Jose Miguel (Maria Alva) Mendoza, Gainesville, Georgia, 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife; son; granddaughter; and 2 sisters. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church.
