Gust G. "Bobby" Moraetes, 78, East Moline, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Clinton, IA. Funeral services are 11 AM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, with Military Honors. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home, with a Trisagion service at 4:30. Memorials may be made to the family. Gust was born on September 4, 1935 in East Moline, the son of George and Amelia Vossos Moraetes. He married Mary Korose on April 30, 1961 in Chicago, IL. She died July 25, 2001. Mr. Moraetes had worked at the former Rock Island Lines and later retired from the Rock Island Arsenal. He served in the United States Marine Corps. Survivors include sons, Peter Moraetes, and Daniel (Sheryl) Moraetes, and grandchildren, Samuel and Abbigail Moraetes all of Bryant, IA, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
