Harold Odendahl, Cape Coral, FL, formerly of East Moline, passed away on September 5, 2010 at the age of 94 in Cape Coral, FL. There will be a rosary at 3:30 pm on Thursday, September 9th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, and Visitation until 7PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday at St. Anne's Church. Interment will follow immediately at Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Odendahl was born on July 18, 1916 in East Moline. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Louis and Anne Wieland Odendahl, a sister Louise, sister Isabel ( Sister St. Therese), sister Leola Odendahl Rossmiller, brother George Odendahl, and his wife Angela Lourdes Dolan Odendahl. He is survived by a sister Ethel Odendahl Hulsbrink of Moline, son William Odendahl of McCaysville GA, son Robert Odendahl, of Cape Coral, grandson Mark Odendahl of Cornelius NC, grandson John Odendahl of Johns Creek GA, grandson Paul Odendahl of Rogers AR, granddaughter Christa Odendahl Evans of Birmingham AL, granddaughter Jessica Odendahl Stalker of Irmo SC, granddaughter Erin Odendahl Thompson of Louisville, KY, and grandson Eric Odendahl of Lawrenceville GA, as well as six great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. Mr. Odendahl was an early member of the Catholic Church of St. Anne, and had lived in East Moline for over 65 years. He was a steamfitter and plumber, and a dedicated member of the United Association Local 25. During most of his career he was employed by the J.L. Brady Company in East Moline. He enjoyed his retirement in Cape Coral FL where he was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Mr. Odendahl was a lifelong Cubs fan.
