Funeral services for Harry Wilson, 91, East Moline, are 10 AM Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. Visitation is 4-7 PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 PM. Harry died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus, Silvis. Memorials may be made to the Monsignor William J. Cleary Endowment Fund. Harry was born May 19, 1917 in Oskaloosa, IA, the son of Henry "Harry" and Dora Silcox Wilson. He married Doris VanderBeke on September 24, 1949. He was a member of St. Anne Church, the East Moline American Legion, VFW 2056, the East End Club, Moline and Red Dog Run, Golf Course. Harry served 6 years in the US Navy during WWII. He retired in 1974 from International Harvester Farmall, Rock Island after 38 years of service. Harry ran the Keg Tavern in East Moline for a couple years during the late 1970's He is survived by his wife of 59 years Doris, children and spouses Charles Wilson, Fort Collins, CO, Robert Wilson of Moline, James and Annette Wilson of Moline, Rebecca and Ed Burr of Chesapeake, VA, grandchildren (and spouses): Aaron (Calder) Wilson, Lindsey (Chris) Pinkerton, Justin (Tara) Wilson, Ellen Wilson, Moline, Corinne Burr and Ryan Burr, a great granson; Asher and 3 great grandchildren Louisa, Jasmine and Kiliegh. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ben and Homer Wilson, a sister Myrtle Elwood, and twin brothers who died at birth.
