Funeral services for H. Edward "Ed" Glenn, 99, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Friday, July 15, 2016 at Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, where he had been a longtime member. Burial will be in Biggsville, IL. Visitation will be 2:00-6:00 pm Thursday 14th of July at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Glenn died Sunday June 26, 2016, at Amber Ridge Memory Care, Moline, IL. Ed was born February 19, 1917, in Monmouth, IL, the son of Ed and Nell Robinson Glenn. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Mable "Jane" Sloan July 21, 1945 in Biggsville. She died March 12, 2012. Ed had worked designing kitchens for LeClaire Lumber Yard,LeClaire, IA and Dimock & Gould Lumber Company, East Moline. He also was owner and operator of Shipley Donuts, East Moline. Survivors include nieces, Barbara Jo Bragd, FL, Glenna Paul, OR, Mary Sims, TX, Judy Miller, IL; numerous great nieces and nephews; special care givers, Laura Meyers-DePaepe, East Moline and Tanner DePaepe, East Moline. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Ruth Finn; and brother, John Glenn. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church.
