Helen Adele Anderson, 93, East Moline, passed away Wednesday December 14, 2011 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Care Center, Rock Island. Funeral services are 11 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services. Helen was the daughter of Bertha and Hans Christian Tank, born October 2, 1918. She married Don F. Anderson, who died in 1968. She was employed as a secretary in National Advertising at the Daily Dispatch and later worked as a bookkeeper for Erickson Construction Company, Moline. Helen had an enthusiasm for gardening and held a passion for baking. Everyone close to her enjoyed the fruits of her labor. Survivors include 2 sons, John (Jill) Anderson, Moline, James (Sharon) Anderson, McKinney, TX, 2 daughters, Donna (Tom) Bustard, Byrdstown, TN and Susan (F. Carter) Nicholson, Moline, and a sister, Joanne Dahir of LaVista, NE. She was the proud grandmother of Staci Hammill, Rock Island, Shelley (Brett) Davis, Texas, Stephanie (Jason) Bird, Texas, Brian (Beth Bustard, Aurora, IL, Andrea (Kory) Farthing, WI, and Carter Nicholson, Moline, along with nieces and nephews. As Matriarch of the family, Helen also had 9 great grandchildren. Preceding Helen in death are her parents, 3 brothers; Robert, Harlan, and Harold and her husband Don. As a lifelong member of St. Anne Parish, East Moline, memorials may be directed to St. Anne Parish, 555, 18th Avenue, East Moline, IL.
