Funeral services for Helen M. Campbell, 91, of Hampton, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday at St. Mary's Mission Church, Hampton. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Rapids City, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a Prayer Vigil will be held at 3:30PM. Mrs. Campbell died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Cameo Assisted Living Newport Beach, CA. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Mission Church, Hampton. Helen De Langhe was born September 17, 1922 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Achille and Alida Hoornaert De Langhe. She married Colin E. Campbell February 7, 1942 in Rapids City and shortly after they bought their first and only home in Hampton. He died July 8, 1999. She worked as a Credit Supervisor at JC Penney, Moline, IL, retiring after 30 years of service. A devout Catholic, Helen was a member of St. Mary Mission Church in Hampton, where she was a member of the Altar Society and Rosary Makers. She enjoyed baking and gardening. In 2010 Helen moved to CA to be near her daughter and family. Helen was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. We love you Mom. Survivors include her daughter, Linda (Tom) McChurch, Costa Mesa, CA; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Campbell, Rock Island, IL; grandchildren, Tom (Shannon) McChurch, Aimee McChurch, and Tanya Campbell (Joe Wheeler); great grandchildren, Erin, Katie, Ty, Sal, and Jay; sister-in-law Audrey Campbell, Carbon Cliff, IL; incredible friends, Betty and Ray Kopatich, as well as the most loving and caring caregivers Let and Joe Antonio and the staff of Cameo Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Thomas R. Campbell; sisters, Alice Olson, Margaret Hall, Ann Vande Water, and Dorthy Lewis.
