Funeral services for Helen L. Freese, 89, of Rock Island, IL, formerly of Muscatine, IA, will be 9:00 AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Freese died Monday, February 5, 2007 at her home. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Davenport, IA, where she had been a member. Helen Turner was born June 24, 1917 in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of Charles and Hattie (Van Zyle) Turner. She married Robert Freese October 19, 1947 in Rock Island, IL. He died in September of 1995. She had worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Kimberly in Davenport, IA, retiring in 1985. Helen was an excellent housekeeper who made sure her home was always well kept. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by all. Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Wutzke of Littleton, CO, Mardee and Skip Blunke of Silvis, IL; son, Stephen Ward of Moline, IL; 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Giessregen of Muscatine; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her: parents; husband; sons, Chief Master Sergeant Gary Ward and Thomas Freese; sisters, Esther Barth and Hazel Hudson; brother, Chester "Chet" Turner.
