Funeral services for Helen C. Green, 88, of Tampa, FL, formerly of East Moline, IL, will be 10AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Green died Friday, September 8, 2006 at Habana Health Care, Tampa, FL. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Helen Granell was born July 26, 1918 in Clarkfield, MN, the daughter of Eric and Cora (Chilberg) Granell, the eighth child of ten. She married Delbert V. Green November 2, 1936 in Montevideo, Minnesota. He died November 26, 1984. Helen had worked as a legal secretary and office manager for the law firm Maran, Klockaw, and McCarthy in Rock Island, IL form 1956 to 1973. She was active in the Legal Secretaries Association where she had been president of the Rock Island County and the State of Illinois Association. She had been a member of the Advisory Board at Blackhawk College. She moved to Naples, FL in 1973 and managed a resort motel for Tom Miller until 1990. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Gary "Skid" Green, Tampa, FL, Patrick Green, Phoenix, AZ, Michael and Norma Green, Naples; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Les and Jiulia Granell of East Moline, IL. She is preceded by her parents, son, Lanny "Pork" Green and eight brothers and sisters.
