Graveside services for Henry L. "Hank" DeDecker, 91, of Silvis, IL will be 9:00am Tuesday, September 29th , 2015, at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm Monday September 28th at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service should be at the funeral home by 8:30am Tuesday. Mr. DeDecker died Sunday, September 6, 2015, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. Hank was born September 28th, 1923, in Moline, IL, the son of Florimond Gustave and Emilie Marie Bousson DeDecker. After graduating from United Township High School in 1941, he worked for the Moline Dispatch for several years before enlisting in the US Navy during WWII, serving from 1943-1946. He married Margaret Eggerichs November 27th, 1947 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Margaret died May 1, 2013. Hank worked for Prudential as an Insurance Salesman, retiring in 1985 after 35 years of service. He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, enjoyed fishing, and was an avid golfer with many friends from Golfmohr Golf Course in Hampton. He served on the Hampton Township Board for many years and was an officer for the local Democratic Party. Survivors include his daughters, Jan (Jerry) Fisher, Roscoe, IL, Mary (Paul) Bechtold, Charlotte, NC, and Julie (Craig) Mumma, Silvis, IL; sons, Jon (Nancy) DeDecker, Coal Valley, IL, and David DeDecker, Bluffton, SC; grandchildren, Erik Fisher, Mark Fisher, Andrea DeDecker, Kameron DeDecker; and great granddaughter, Olivia Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Lucien DeDecker. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be donated to the Michael J.
