Henry S. Rangel Sr. 82, Moline, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 9 AM until 11 AM at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Funeral mass will be 12 Noon Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Henry was born on October 9, 1931 in Gary, IN, the son of Roberto Rangel and Rosa Serrano. He married Teresa Salas on October 4, 1953. Henry retired from the former International Harvester Farmall Works, Rock Island. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events and going to the dog races. He loved being with his family. Mr. Rangel enjoyed watching boxing and had coached baseball in earlier years. Among survivors are his wife Teresa, children, Silvia Duarte, Teresa Rangel-Kavanagh, Henrietta Bushnell, Inocencia Keller, Rosemary Zerbonia, Henry Rangel Jr., Adriana Rangel-Carmona, Rosario Reed, Claudia Rangel and Maria Rangel-Trimble, 23 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 11 brothers and sisters including his brother Rene Rangel, Milan. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Maricela Cervantes.
