Services for Herman E. Arp, 70, East Moline, are 6PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. His family will greet friends and family for 2 hour prior to services. His body will be cremated following the funeral. Mr. Arp died Monday; September 17, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. A memorial fund has been established. Herman was born on February 16, 1937 on the farm near Walcott, IA, the son of Herman J and Alice W. (Dengler) Arp. He married Karen Montgomery on June 17, 1958 at the Friends Church, Buffalo, IA. Herman had worked at International Harvester Farmall, in Rock Island and moved to Indianapolis, IN until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and had served in the US Navy Reserve. Survivors include his wife of 49 years Karen, his children and spouses; Audrey and William Pickle of Amory, MS; Dennis Arp, Bettendorf; Vickie and Mark Barker, Spencer, IN; Jackie and Richard Ruggles of Indianapolis; Mike and Calene Arp, Indianapolis, IN; Terry and Paula Arp, Seymour, IN; and Daniel Arp, East Moline; twenty-two grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; and a sister Loretta Wagner, Davenport.
