Herman D. Gosa, 78, of Hampton, IL, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at his home. Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Herman was born December 11, 1935, in Lamar Co., Alabama, the son of Ottie Monroe and Minnie Rae Guyton Gosa. He served in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany from 1955-1957. He married Dollie D. Lawrence September 26, 1959. She died January 16, 1992. He later married Sheila (Buttermore) Courville February 15, 1995. He retired in 1992 as an insulator for Local 81, Cedar Rapids, IA. Herman had been an avid Hank Williams Sr. fan and memorabilia collector. He had been a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Sheila Gosa, Hampton; daughters, Shelia Gosa (David Ponce) East Moline, and Jona (Dustin) Coder, East Moline; son, J.C. (Jana) Gosa, Port Byron, IL; step sons, Dane (Jenifer) Courville, Lyons, CO, Darren (Barbara) Courville, Davenport, IA, Dean (Carole) Courville, San Antonio, TX; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; sister, Willie (Angel) Reyes Moline, IL, and Faye Young, Beaverton, AL; brother, Clement (Collette) Gosa, Colona, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; twin brother, Therman Lee Gosa; brother, Ray Gosa. A special thanks to Ed Killian of Genesis Hospice, for his excellent care.
