We would like to welcome everyone to the homecoming of Mrs. Hermice Dixon. Funeral services for Mrs. Dixon, 76, of Davenport, IA, will be 11:00 AM Saturday at the Third Missionary Baptist Church, 222 West 14th Street, Davenport, IA. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, IA. Visitation will be one our prior to services at the Church. Mrs. Dixon went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, December 7, 2005. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Heartland Hospice, Bettendorf, IA. Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, is handling arrangements. She was born October 10, 1929 in Louisville, MS, the daughter of Charles and Annie (Welch) Cooper. She was one of seventeen children. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 18 years, giving her loving and tender care to all she cared for. Hermice Cooper was united in marriage to Bud Z. Dixon for 36 years, until his passing in 1984. During this blessed union, they produced 8 loving children. Survivors include her children: Kate (Nick) Hicks of Bellwood, IL, Adell (James) Jones of Rock Island, IL, Willie (Leona) Dixon, Will (Clara) Dixon, Judy (Leroy) Payne, Roberta (Cornell) Davis, Ruthie (Oscar) Dixon, and Georgia (Roy) Scott all of Davenport, IA; 30 grandchildren; a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; siblings, Charlie Cooper Jr. of Memphis, TN, Charlene Collier of Harrisburg, PA, Wille James Cooper of Harrisburg, PA, Calvin Cooper of Minneapolis, MN, Beason Cooper of Louisville, MS, Joe Dan Cooper of Moss Point, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchildren, Elzon, Latonya, Willie and Darius; siblings, Walter Lee, W.D., Willis, James Morgan, Annie Mae, Mary Lee, Nellie, Sally, Annie Lee, Vetenne, and Gertrude Estes.
