Memorial services for Hewlette R. "Hoot" Young, 58, Port Byron, are 10:30 Saturday, July 18th at 1st Southern Baptist Church, Colona. The family will greet friends and family for 1 hour prior to services. Hoot died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at his home, surrounded by his family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. He was born November 30, 1950 in Tellico Plains, TN, the son of Clyde and Marie (Thomas) Young. He married Jane Wiersema on December 31, 1993 in Tellico Plains. Hoot had worked as a truck driver at Young Trucking in Atlanta Georgia. Survivors include his wife, Jane, children; Randall Young of Vonore , TN, Scott Bowers, Rock Island, Cody Bowers, Port Byron, and Jennifer Armstrong, Hillsdale, twelve grandchildren, sisters; Stella Colvin, Paulita Best, Caralee Belcher all of Tellico Plains, Leatha Miller, Madisonville, TN, and brothers; Bill Young, Sweetwater, TN, J.D. Young, Atlanta, GA and Terry Young, Fairman, GA, his mother-in-law, Annette Wiersema, and several nieces and nephews.
