Graveside services for Howard L. Masengarb, 57, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Tuesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Masengarb died Friday, October 19, 2007 at his home. Memorials may be made to the family. Howard was born May 16, 1950 in Moline, IL, the son of Lyle and Margaret (Reed) Masengarb. He married Della Walker February 5, 1972 in Rock Island, IL. She died August 28, 1976. He had served in the US Army. He had worked as a construction worker. Howard had a great sense of humor. He was a Green Bay Packer Fan and a Chicago Bear Fan. He loved to fish. Survivors include: his children, Vicki, George "Joe", Joshua, Tiffany, Leslie, Elena, and Jill; 3 grandchildren, mother(significant other), Margaret Masengarb (Frank Tinsman) of Moline, IL; grandmother, Elizabeth Reed of Davenport, IA; sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Thomas Peterson of Rapids City, IL, Cheryl and John Opsal of Geneseo, IL, Eileen Roberts of Seneca OR, Evelyn and Steve Nichols of Galena, MO; brother, Harvey Masengarb of Springfield, MO. He is preceded in death by his father, brother, Dwight Lee Masengarb, grandparents, a niece, 2 nephews, and a great-niece.
