Howard "Skip" E. Turner, 69, of East Moline, IL, died Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island IL. As per his wishes there will be a private family gathering. Howard E. Turner was born March 16, 1947, in Moberly, MO, the son of Howard E. and Olive O'Daniel Turner. He served in the United States Air Force. He married Jeanne Hofmeister on September 25, 1971, in St Louis, MO. Skip retired from Experimental Engineering Department at John Deere Harvester in East Moline, IL, after 20 yrs of service. He left Deere to spend more time with family. He founded Turner Tire and Automotive, in 1989 and enjoyed 10 successful years doing what he loved. Skip had enjoyed automobiles, collecting sports memorabilia, coaching and officiating basketball, wood working and remodeling homes. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, East Moline, one daughter, Nicole (Jeremy) Stevenson, Bettendorf; three sons, Shannon (Kelly) Turner, Davenport, Brandon Turner and Corey Turner, both of East Moline; five Grandchildren; two sisters Mary (Keith) Lundeen, East Moline and Carol (Waldo) McCarty, Carbon Cliff. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Brett and a sister, Hazel Pearl Anderson.
