Funeral services for Isabella T. "Sally" Van Overschelde, 88, of East Moline, IL,will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mrs. Van Overschelde died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Rosewood Health Care Center Activity Fund, or to a charity of choice. Sally was born February 21, 1922 in Pershing, IA, the daughter of Charles and Rachel Rowley Miller. She was a graduate of United Township Class of 1939. She married Andre R. "Tazz" Van Overschelde January 4, 1940 in Muscatine, IA. He died March 22, 2000. She had worked for the former La Rose Shoppe, Moline, Mid Way Oil Rock Island, and retired from the Corp of Engineers in 1982. She had been active in St. Mary's Catholic Church. She had been a member and President of the Tall Corn Chapter of the ABWA, member of the East Moline AMVETS Women's Auxiliary, where she had been past president, TOPS, and various social clubs from church. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, crocheting, flowers and plants, going out to eat with her friends from church, and reunions at the Corp of Engineers. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Gary Hoff of East Moline; grandchildren (spouse), Barry (Tracy) Hoff, Rebecca Hoff, Elizabeth (Tim) Ripka, Andrea Hoff and fiancée John Weel, Sarah (Mike) Neff; great-grandchildren (spouse), Olivia Hoff and Alexis Hoff, Shaun (Jade) Ward, Gary Ward, Michael Ward, Rachel and Katie, Brittany Ripka, Henry Neff, Macy Mae Neff, and Sunnie Neff; great-great grandson, Brent Ward; her dog, Rusty; many wonderful relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Charles and Ray Miller, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Laura and Jerry Napiwoski, brother-in-law, Frank Van Overschelde.
