J. Amelia "Emily" Cobert Nemetz 93, East Moline, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Funeral services are 11 AM Tuesday at St Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Visitation is from 9:30 until 10:30 AM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or to St. Anne Church where she was a member. Amelia Macik was born February 28, 1924 in East Moline, the daughter of Josef and Anna (Zvonek) Macik. She married Robert Cobert and she and her husband ran Bob Cobert Men's wear in East Moline. He preceded her in death in 1979. She married Robert Nemetz in 1980. He died in 2012. In early years she worked at the former International Harvester. Emily enjoyed golf, tennis, and was a member of the St. Anne's Card Club. Survivors include her children, Bobbe Cobert, East Moline, Patti (Steve) O'Connell, Marion, IA and David (Debra) Cobert, Silvis, grandchildren, Kate (John) Brorby, Rob Cobert, Maggie O'Connell, Anna O'Connell, Connor O'Connell, Daniel O'Connell and a great grandson James Brorby. In addition to her husbands, she is preceeded by her siblings, Joseph Macik, Ed Macik and Ann Gould. A special thank you to the many caregivers at Hope Creek for their care and compassion.
