Funeral services for James L. "Leo" Anders, 60, of Colona, IL, will be 1:00 PM Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis, IL. Entombment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a liturgy service will be held at 4:30PM. Mr. Anders died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to the church. Leo was born October 2, 1949 in Moline, IL, the son of James and Esther Woerly Anders. He married Marianne (Heald) Lage November 9, 1990 in Rock Island, IL. He had served in the US National Guard. He had been a supervisor at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, where he retired after 30 years of service. Leo had also been a substitute teacher in the local schools for many years. He had been an avid golfer and had been a member of Valley View Country Club, Cambridge, IL. He was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. His grandchildren were the most important thing in "his world." Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Rich Mack of Orion, IL, Mary and Brandon Taets of Orion, sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Julie Lage of Orion, Sam and Tammy Lage of Moline, IL; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Esther Anders of East Moline; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Arvid Jones of Geneseo, IL; nephew, B.J. Jones of Geneseo. He is preceded in death by his father , the love of his life, his wife, Marianne and his granddaughter, Elizabeth Mack.
