James E. Carlson, 77, of Silvis, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at his home in Silvis.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, at New Life Fellowship East Moline Campus. Memorials may be made to Franklin Graham Ministries or to Shriners Hospital for Children.

James was born June 25, 1946, in Marseilles, Illinois, the son of John and Stella Gunderson Carlson. He married Patti Jo Hess on July 18, 1995, in Las Vegas, NV.

James was employed for 22 years with Borg-Warner, Ottawa, IL, then Field Packaging, Marseilles, and lastly with Marseilles Sewing Company.

He was a member of New Life Fellowship, East Moline Campus. He enjoyed walking, the outdoors, and visiting with friends during trips to HyVee and Dollar General. He loved caring for his late pet dog, "Snoopy".

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patti Jo, of Silvis; stepdaughter, Emily Khal, Westfield, IN; step-grandchildren, Carrington Stalf, Autumn Stalf, Ellen Stalf, Conner Stalf, Jude Stalf, Kaiden Stalf, and Melanie Grace Khal.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two stepsons, Eric and Lanson Stalf; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Patricia "Pat" and Quinn Hess.
