Funeral services for James W. "Doc" Heald, 68, Silvis, are 10 AM Thursday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 2-6PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Doc passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Illini Hospital, Silvis. A memorial fund has been established. He was born September 28, 1941 the son of William "Doc" and Mary Alice (Wilson) Heald. He graduated from United Township High School and from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Jim had been a chiropracter in the East Moline/Silvis area for 25 years and for the past 17 years had worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections. He married Cinda Sue Fillmer and as best friends they have been married for 34 years. Doc had a passion for jazz music and enjoyed playing the drums. He was an avid golfer and could be seen almost daily on the local golf courses. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family and friends held a special place in his heart. He also enjoyed taking his dog Wags for walks around town. Survivors include his wife Cindy, children; Steve Heald, Moline, Farah (Rob) Anderson, East Moline, grandsons; Erik, Graham, Cole James, granddaughters; Sydni, Sophia and Lily Grace, sister Sylvia (Ken) DiSanto of Clyde, NY, and special friends; Mike Dergo and Chad Schultz. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Dave, a sister Marianne, his son Bill and a daughter Sarah.
