James E. Dorr, 85, of East Moline, IL, died Monday, March 2, 2009 at Parkview Terrace, East Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday at Christ Church of Colona, Colona, IL. In lieu of flowers and gifts memorials may be made to the family. Jim was born August 10, 1923 in Brentwood NH, the son of Edward and Rinda (James) Dorr. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Mildred (Braun)Kegg October 14, 1978 in Moline, IL. He retired from the former International Harvester, East Moline, in 1983 after 30 years of service. Jim enjoyed tearing down buildings, going on the boat, talking and visiting with friends and family. Survivors include: his wife, Millie Dorr of East Moline; 6 daughters; 3sons; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Beatrice DeLise of Exeter, NH; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ellen Dorr of Maine; several nieces and nephews; best friend, Mert Baker of East Moline. He is preceded in death by his parents, a twin daughter, granddaughter, and 2 brothers.
